Why this exists
Sellers, landlords and agents know what everyone charges; renters and buyers usually don’t. Huge advances, inflated vehicle prices and “no children” rules feel normal because nobody can see how common, or uncommon, they are. This site makes that visible.
What we collect
When you share your rent: district and area, type and size of the place, rent, advance, the year and any conditions you faced. We never ask for names, phone numbers, exact addresses or landlord names. Price checks are not stored.
How we protect you
Figures only appear once there are at least 5 prices and are shown as medians and ranges, never individually. To stop spam we keep a one-way scrambled fingerprint of your connection, not your IP address. We use Google Analytics to count visits; Google receives your IP address and sets cookies for this. It never sees what you submit in the forms.
Keeping the numbers honest
We use medians, which a few fake reports can’t move much, and limit how many reports one connection can send. Reports that are wildly different from others nearby are held for review.
Where the numbers come from
Rent figures combine anonymous tenant reports with asking rents from rental ads on ikman.lk listed in the last 30 days. Advance and landlord conditions come only from tenant reports. Advertised prices can be a little higher than what is finally agreed. Vehicle prices and hire rates come from ads on ikman.lk listed in the last 30 days.
